OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross ® has an immediate opening for a dynamic, team-oriented, Mental Health Specialist for the Life & Disability Service Delivery team. Reporting to the Director of Life & Disability Service Delivery, the successful candidate is a natural collaborator and mentor, providing support to case managers and helping to lead an impactful mental health strategy. This role has numerous goals such as optimizing case management best practices, augmenting case manager knowledge of mental health, supporting strong risk management and helping to drive overall disability outcomes related to mental health claims. To excel in this role, you will have exemplary collaboration skills, strong analytic and problem-solving skills, an ability to coach and influence, excellent presentation skills, and a strong commitment to exceptional customer experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Review mental health disability claims and provide expert advice and direction to case managers.
Recommend community resources and tool utilization to impact mental health recovery for disabled plan members.
Provide one-to-one and team-level coaching on mental health claims.
Act as the go-to resource for our internal teams regarding mental health topics.
Support/develop/deliver training sessions to internal teams on mental health topics and best practices.
Work collaboratively across the organization to support ongoing strategy development related to mental health.
Work closely with the Service Delivery team to support thought leadership and meet with plan sponsors, as needed.
Create a positive working environment within the department, which inspires high productivity, innovation, and cohesive teamwork.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders and team members.
Working with Blue Cross Life, ensure Alberta Blue Cross® is working within the National Best Practices.
Work collaboratively with senior management to facilitate development for key initiatives to support the division’s plan and strategic vision.
Remain current on knowledge about mental health, disability management and insurance practices.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
Master’s degree in psychology, social work (or equivalent).
5+ years of work experience in the clinical field of mental health.
Knowledge of public resources and programs related to mental health.
Strong coaching and influencing skills.
A bias toward teamwork and superior collaboration.
Aptitude for reprioritizing, working under pressure and managing time effectively.
Strong presentation skills and experience.
Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to present tailored information to different stakeholders (written and verbal).
Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to customer experience.
Excellent decision making, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills to resolve complex issues.
Demonstrated effective change management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
NICE TO HAVE:
Case management experience would be considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience training others.
Ability to generate and implement innovative solutions.
Ability to develop presentation and training materials.
