Senior Customer Business Manager (Shoppers Drug Mart account)

This opportunity leads customer-focused plans and initiatives and partners cross-functionally to develop & execute strategic selling solutions in order to achieve sales and profit objectives. Building strong customer relationships at top-tier accounts to drive mutually-beneficial business opportunities. The role combines management of the traditional bricks and mortar retail as well as the development/support of e-commerce.

Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a permanent position and is based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

What you will do:
Demonstrates leadership and strategic partnership with Customers through category leadership, consumer and shopper insight, and marketing understanding to steer and grow business together.
Manages budgets, including trade allocation, promotional funds, and displays.
Partners with Forecasting to analyze volume for sales and displays while planning corresponding budget long-term (Monthly meeting, Informer Inputs, Exceedra Update)
Utilizes strategic selling and negotiation skills to maximize sales growth, promotional effectiveness, and long-term partnership.
Manages communication, prioritization, and information flow with cross-functional teams, including Customer Solutions, Marketing, Customer Marketing, trade marketing, Logistics, Finance, Replenishment, and Analytics/Insights, while facilitating the sharing of best practices.
Develops, executes, tracks and continuously adjusts retailer-specific business plans to achieve Bayer Consumer Health (BCH) and customer objectives.
Extensive knowledge of tools (Informer, Exceedra, GS1, ECC, individual account systems)

Customer Facing:
Ongoing category director & merchant meetings to share consumption and category trends, Planogram recommendations and identify opportunities to win between BCH and customer.
Constant communication and touch points to support the day-to-day workings of the business.
Execution and implementation of Cost Changes.
Manage disruptions & conflict with Spec changes, errors, allocations, bonus packs, allocation, exiting SKUs, discos.
Present new product launches and key brand activations
Joint Business Plans, Top-Top Executive Presentations, negotiation/tracking of customer-specific agreements (Preferred & Exclusive Vendor Agreements).
Promotional tracking and management: display, flyers, shopper marketing programs, Trade Promotional Manager (TPA analysis) and loyalty program reviews.

Inventory Management:
Weekly Replenishment Connects, Other Accounts include Weekly connects with buyer helping to manage inventory (Back Order Mitigation & Reporting, Centre of customer service/voice of the customer on operational/order flow details.
Other: Retail Store checks, Sample submissions, General Travel (limited i.e. 5-10% of time)
Presentation & Feedback - Annual Account planning
Finance & Deductions team: trade reconciliation.
Category/Brand, 4Ps, and Merchandising strategy meetings (Round Tables, Quarterly Connect, Ad Hoc customer requests)

Supply Chain:
Forecasting-Demand Planning Meetings and System-Inputs i.e. Exceedra
Display Forecasting.
eCommerce: Working with Digital Shelf and Media Teams to further develop knowledge and business opportunities within this side of the account.
‘Stand Up for Sales’ Weekly/Monthly Team Meetings.

Who you are:
Completed university degree or equivalent.
Approximately 12+ years of aligned experience within the CPG industry.
Customer management experience.
Cross-functional experience, preferred.
Ability to self-start and show leadership.
Ability to think strategically and prioritize team goals and activities with short and long-term planning.
Experience managing and distributing a budget and resources effectively.
Ability to effectively resolve competing priorities for the team relating to products, customers, and sales force.
Experience to identify risks and business opportunities to support business plan objectives and to effectively communicate insights.
Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer products industry, category, brand strategies, competitive products, and classes of trade.
Ability to influence key decision making at various levels at both company and customer.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation development and implementation skills.
Strong negotiating skills within the company and the customer organization.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, database information sources, and web applications.
