As we continue to grow our corporate and wedding business, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate & Wedding Sales Representative to join our sales team.
This role is ideal for a hospitality sales professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and guiding clients through the planning and sales process from initial inquiry to confirmed booking.
About the Role
The Corporate & Wedding Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business and converting incoming opportunities across corporate events, weddings, and private functions.
You will work directly with clients to understand their vision, event requirements, budget, and priorities, then develop tailored catering and event proposals that meet their needs while supporting the organization's revenue and profitability goals.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, relationship-driven, confident in sales, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and convert incoming inquiries for corporate events, weddings, and private functions.
- Proactively generate new business through outreach, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and lead development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding couples, event planners, venues, and industry partners.
- Conduct client consultations to understand event requirements, budgets, preferences, and expectations.
- Prepare customized catering proposals, quotes, menus, and service recommendations.
- Follow up consistently on leads and proposals to maximize conversion and secure bookings.
- Conduct venue tours, site visits, tastings, and client meetings as required.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms while maintaining company profitability and service standards.
- Identify opportunities to upsell catering services, bar packages, rentals, staffing, and other event enhancements.
- Maintain accurate client information, sales activity, proposals, contracts, and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate closely with culinary and operations teams to ensure confirmed event details are accurate, achievable, and effectively communicated.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Meet and exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
- Stay informed about wedding, corporate event, catering, and hospitality market trends.
- Represent the organization professionally at networking events, wedding shows, industry functions, and client meetings.
Required Experience
We are looking for a sales professional with hospitality or event industry experience who understands how to turn inquiries and relationships into confirmed business.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 3+ years of experience in catering sales, wedding sales, event sales, hotel sales, venue sales, hospitality sales, or a related client-facing role.
- Proven ability to generate leads, follow up effectively, and close sales.
- Experience selling weddings, corporate events, catering services, venues, or other hospitality services is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of event planning, catering, food & beverage, and hospitality operations.
- Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing abilities.
- Ability to confidently discuss budgets, pricing, packages, and contracts with clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, proposals, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Professional, polished, and confident when meeting with clients and industry partners.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working toward individual sales and revenue targets.
- Experience with catering or event management software is considered an asset.
- Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Flexibility to work hospitality hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when required for client meetings, tastings, wedding shows, and events.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
