Overall Accountabilities:
The Information Security Analyst supports monitoring the network and host security to ensure the protection of IFDS’s information assets from unauthorized use, modification, or destruction. The scope of responsibilities includes monitoring unauthorized activities, performing vulnerability assessments, collaborating with other IT departments and business partners to provide analysis of security requirements; evaluating applications as they relate to security architecture and design; and making recommendations on the design, selection and modification of appropriate hardware and software to meet security requirements of network systems and information processing needs.

Monitors applications and systems for the occurrence of security incidents and respond using incident response best practices
Conducts security audits and assessments, conducts gap analysis, and recommends corrective action(s)
Respond to and investigation of any IT security breaches, virus or other attacks, working in liaison with compliance where appropriate
Implementation, monitoring and administration of IFDS Security Systems and products
Technical research and design of IT Security for servers, desktops, networks and applications
Liaise with compliance, auditors (internal & external), DST data security, suppliers of IT Security products and services
Provide detailed technical advice and guidance to the support teams with in the IT units
Raising awareness and relevant understanding of IT security issues within IFDS as a whole
Assisting IFDS in maintaining compliance with ISO 27001
Ensure that you keep yourself fully updated on IT security matters at all times, providing timely, appropriate advice to IFDS senior management by preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly progress report
Assists in Disaster Recovery Tests and Business Continuity planning
Review and update corporate security policies and procedures document
Supports information security awareness through developing training materials, facilitating orientations and drafting written communications
Leads testing and evaluation of IT internal controls with regards to corporate security risks, internal and external audits and reports, and sensitive data exposures
Participate in staff meetings and project reviews to ensure timely completion and planning of resources
If required, assist in investigating any privacy violations and/or incidents and reporting such findings to the Chief Privacy Officer
Updating and reporting any personal information-handling practices at IFDS
Support the Chief Privacy in his overall mandate
Promoting awareness and understanding of privacy issue within IFDS

Minimum Qualifications:
Critical:
Minimum 5 years Data Security or Information Security related experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Business
Systematic thinker – takes a well-ordered approach to analyzing problems, organizing work and planning action
Forward thinking – anticipates & plans to deal with future events, trends, problems & opportunities
Strong communication skills
Highly organized, analytical, detail and action oriented
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Important:
Experience as a data or network security administrator in Linux and MS Windows environments
University or post-secondary school education equivalent

Beneficial:
Experience as a TCP/IP network administrator.
