Brimich is a family owned and operated 3PL & warehousing company. We are a growing organization and currently looking for dependable and dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our winning team at our Brantford facilities.
Job Summary Statement:
We are looking for a highly capable IT support specialist to provide technical assistance to our staff. In this role, your duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing data. You will also be required to advise on IT equipment upgrades.
To ensure success as an IT support specialist, you should possess extensive experience in providing information technology support in a fast-paced environment. Top-notch IT support specialists contribute to increased productivity by ensuring that company IT systems run efficiently.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Providing IT assistance to staff and customers during normal business hours plus rotational on-call after-hours support.
- Consulting with IT managers and other departments as required.
- Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
- Resolving tickets and logged errors in a timely manner.
- Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
- Updating computer software. as well as upgrading hardware and systems.
- Ensuring system security through user education and preventative processes
- Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests.
- Keeping track of technological advancements and trends in IT support.
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar
- 2-3 years of experience as an IT support specialist.
- Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Azure, Windows Domain management
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users.
- Proficiency with IT helpdesk software.
- Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
- Proven ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with databases, SQL and programming is an asset
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills with excellent listening & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment and independently
- Must excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter
- Ability to deal with confidential information and interact with all levels of employees
- Valid driver's license and a vehicle
