Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Mississauga, ON
Job type: Permanent Full Time
Salary: CAD $60,000 – $100,000 per year (based on experience and interview)
Key Responsibilities
- Design custom machinery and industrial equipment from concept through final assembly, with a focus on roll former lines and automated equipment.
- Develop complete engineering packages, including 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T, BOMs, and engineering calculations.
- Lead and participate in project design activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct design reviews and release approved mechanical designs through the ERP system.
- Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
- Process engineering change requests and manage design revisions through completion.
- Perform engineering calculations, machine sizing, and component selection.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and design solutions to improve product performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5–15 years of experience in machine design, equipment design, or custom machinery development.
- Proven experience in machine building and delivering complete mechanical design projects.
- Experience designing industrial equipment, automation systems, material handling systems, or robotics.
- Strong understanding of machine elements, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical calculations, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with FEA, dynamic/mechanical analysis, and engineering calculations.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience creating technical drawings, GD&T, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Previous experience working for mid-sized manufacturing or engineering companies is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
Pay: $70,024.00-$100,000.00 per year
