Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines or by hand.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces.
- Sort and organize clean items for proper storage and easy access for kitchen staff.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify management when stock levels are low.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service times by efficiently managing dish flow.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, food handling safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, including food preparation and food service processes.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues.
- Previous hotel or food service experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
