Chroma Music Studio is seeking a passionate and dedicated piano teacher to join our esteemed faculty. We are a music school offering primarily In-Home piano and theory lessons, meeting the needs of busy families. Responsibilities:
- Delivering engaging and comprehensive in-home piano lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Creating individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's goals, abilities, and learning style.
- Teaching music theory, technique, sight-reading, and repertoire.
- Preparing students for performances, recitals, competitions and examinations as required.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback, and setting realistic goals.
- Fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student creativity, motivation, and musical expression.
- Collaborating with parents and students to ensure open communication and mutual understanding of expectations.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and student evaluations.
- Ensuring and upholding a level of professionalism suitable for individuals of all age groups.
- Travel to student homes to teach lessons
Qualifications:
- A piano exam certificate (ie: RCM Practical/Theory Exam) or a bachelor's degree in music, piano performance, education or a related field.
- Knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, and piano pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and schedules.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying updated with current teaching methodologies and trends in music education.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of different ages and skill levels.
- Any secondary language is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to student homes
- Must be located or able to travel within Mississauga for in-home lessons (Oakville and Milton locations are also available)
