We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with proven experience operating Excavators (Hoe), Dozers, and Side Booms to support pipeline construction projects.
The Opportunity
The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role in pipeline construction activities by safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment to support right-of-way preparation, grading, excavation, pipe handling, lowering-in operations, backfilling, cleanup, and final restoration activities.
Working closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Welders, Labourers, Operators, and Inspectors, this position contributes directly to project safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
The successful candidate will have strong pipeline construction experience, excellent equipment operating skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, dozers, side booms, and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform trenching, excavation, grading, backfilling, and right-of-way preparation activities
- Support pipe stringing, pipe handling, lowering-in, and restoration activities
- Follow grade requirements, construction specifications, and supervisor direction
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections
- Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition
- Work safely around personnel, underground utilities, pipelines, and heavy equipment
- Participate in hazard assessments, safety meetings, and daily planning activities
- Support project productivity, quality, and schedule objectives
- Promote safe work practices and operational excellence
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, side booms, or related heavy equipment
- Pipeline construction experience
- Strong understanding of right-of-way construction activities
- Ability to work safely in active construction environments
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Valid CSO
- Valid H2S Alive
- Valid Standard First Aid
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mainline pipeline construction
- Experience performing lowering-in operations
- Ground Disturbance certification
- Multiple equipment competencies
- Experience working around live utilities and buried infrastructure
- Experience reading grade stakes and construction drawings
