The Account Service Representative (ASR) will serve as a critical partner to the Canada underwriting team within the Bond Field organization. The individual serves as the main point of contact for agent interaction for customer service and inquiries. He or she is part of a service team, collaborating to provide world-class support through processing surety transactions within department guidelines and providing timely responses to requests received from branch teams, producers and/or customer segments. The individual maintains and utilizes a strong level of surety, industry and market knowledge to contribute to the overall success and profitability of the Bond organization.
This position reports to a manager within the Bond Service Operations team with a support relationship into the local Bond Field Regional Office Manager(s) of the office(s) covered. This is an individual contributor role without supervisory responsibilities. This position works in a team environment which can span multiple offices; however, the individual is expected to be able to exercise decision making skills and problem solving while working independently and prioritizing a high volume of workload. Complexity of work varies from standard, routine tasks to more complex problem solving and analytical assignments. Various project work may be assigned as needed.
The ability to communicate fluently in French (verbal and written) is strongly desired.
Maintains productive working relationships with agents, clients, and other beneficiaries to promote our service model and provide support.
Facilitates agency documentation and changes with appropriate Home Office teams.
Screen incoming business requests in adherence to Bond underwriting and business appetite.
Enter WIP and financial statement data.
Work with underwriting team to follow up on requests for underwriting information.
Work independently to proactively maintain timeliness of information in the underwriting files.
Process surety transactions including execution of bonds and riders when necessary.
Enter transactions in the corporate booking system. Examples of transactions include: new line, critical change, non-critical change, premium date change, cancel, reinstate, interim & close, renewal, global agent change, global account change.
Achieve or exceed department quality and service standards
Maintains electronic files for underwriting teams.
Run reports in support of underwriting portfolio management.
Identify and assist in solving problems.
Convert submitted business into electronic files and tasks / routes to appropriate team or individuals.
Facilitate routing of tasks and work between agents, underwriters, service team, and home office team.
Route information to and from underwriting teams in the absence of local underwriter.
Provide feedback for process improvement as needed to improve the bond underwriting and service organizations.
Various projects as determined by service and/or underwriting staff.
3-5 years of prior, relevant experience in Surety, Insurance, business, finance, accounting, and/or customer service required.
Ability to communicate fluently in French is desired
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
Analytical, business, finance, or accounting support experience preferred.
Prior surety or insurance industry experience at either a company or broker strongly preferred.
