THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director, Partnerships and Impact is responsible for the strategic and operational development and oversight of SCC’s domestic and international programming portfolio and related strategic initiatives. The Director, Partnerships and Impact will collaborate with senior management colleagues across the organization to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in processes. This role will proactively cultivate strategic partnerships within the SCI/A movement and externally across Canada’s international development sector.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Program Leadership and Strategy

Develop, implement, and continuously refine the Partnerships and Impact’s Department strategy and plans in alignment with SCC’s strategic goals and objectives.

Lead the articulation of the Departmental strategy and plans, inclusive of international and domestic programming, in alignment with SCC objectives, and its impact within SCC’s organizational identity and narrative.
-
Monitor the implementation of the Departmental strategy and plans in alignment with SCC strategy using results-based performance metrics, ensuring timely adjustments are made as needed.

Manage and allocate resources across the Department to effectively and efficiently deliver on organizational and departmental strategies and plans, including the Revenue Strategy.
Strategic Partnerships and Relationship Management
-
Develop and maintain partnerships that enhance SCC’s value as a Member organization within the federated model and pursuit of localization.
-
Cultivate and manage relationships with key Save the Children Members and Save the Children International (SCI) Centre, and Regional and Country Directors to proactively develop and execute on opportunities for shared impact.

Oversee the development, execution, and maintenance of institutional account strategies, plans and targets, including as relevant donor engagement strategies (e.g. Global Affairs Canada).

Collaborate with the External Engagement team to pursue strategic partnerships with the private sector.
-
Strengthen existing program partnerships within the sector in Canada and cultivate new, non-traditional program partnerships to respond to emerging trends, inclusive of public/private partnerships.
Program Portfolio Management
-
Oversee and drive revenue growth within the portfolio with institutional donors to and closely collaborate with the External Engagement Department to build strategic partnerships with non-institutional donors.

Lead the analysis of systems and procedures across the Domestic and International Program portfolio management and implement improvements for increased efficiency.

Oversee the execution of the portfolio targets, including revenue, impact, reach and budget on active and pipeline awards.
People Management

Lead assigned team/department providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management while ensuring alignment with organizational values and policies.

Set clear team and individual performance expectations for productivity, quality, and success; providing direction and support as needed.

Collaborate with leaders across the organization through active participation in SCC’s Leadership Team.

Oversee budget management, recruitment, change management and career development while ensuring compliance, fostering a respectful, values-driven culture, and maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace
-
Ensure regular and transparent communication on strategy and policies, uphold SCC’s Code of Conduct, Policies, Leadership Charter, Reconciliation, Equity, Anti-Racism, Diversity, Inclusion (READI), Health and Safety standards, integrates Child Safeguarding practices, models competencies, and professional and ethical behaviour.
Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience
-
Minimum 7-10 years of management experience in International Development, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO/INGO), or other not-for-profit sectors is required, preferably with experience working in countries of operation. People management experience in a unionized environment is preferred.

Experience working with institutional donors in Canada including Global Affairs Canada. Experience with Public/Private Partnerships will be considered a strong asset.

Experience with child rights strategy development and programming in areas of Health, Education, Child Protection, Gender Equality, and/or Livelihoods
-
Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences to build strong working relationships across cultural and organizational settings, both internally and externally. French/Spanish/Arabic language skills is an asset.

Demonstrated project management experience for task execution of assigned objectives supported by proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines to achieve SCC objectives.

Displays analytical and problem-solving skills to support initiatives with demonstrated adaptability to support change management for successful task implementation.

Applies judgment and make sound decisions that are accountable, justifiable, and in adherence to policies and procedures.

Considers organizational strategy and thinks creatively to support innovative initiatives and collaborations that deliver benefits for the children and families we serve.

Ability to occasionally travel locally, nationally and internationally (less than 10%) as required.

The salary range for this position is Non-Union pay band 9 between $118,530.13 - $142,235.71 CAD depending on skills and experience. In addition to this, our employees will have the following package of additional benefits:
