Summary:
The Production Supervisor should model ethical behavior by displaying a high level of integrity in dealing with employees, customers and contractors. The job function of the Production Supervisor is ensuring that finished products meet regulatory requirements, as well as internal and external specifications while ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Afternoon Shift: 2pm - 1030pm
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
· Plan, organize and manage the daily operations of the facility.
· Work closely with Production Manager to establish a framework for continuous improvement.
· Monitor, reduce and control occurrences of waste and expired ingredients
· Ensure proper staff scheduling according to production
· Responsible for monitoring activities of all plant personnel to ensure GMPs, bio security and food safety policies are being followed at all times
· Conduct weight checks, pH and temperature checks to ensure products meet specifications and complete monitoring records
· Monitoring of all production employees; breaks, absenteeism, discipline and work ethics
· Working with Human Resources in hiring needs and requirements for production
· Ensure that staff is cross trained, recommending employees for further development.
· Ensure that staff is held accountable for their actions by issuing disciplinary warnings and working with Human Resources on further actions
· Supervise all lines when running.
· Perform ongoing checks on production activities to ensure production procedures are being followed
· Conduct Healthy and Safety audits (JHSC)
· Conduct operational inspections of production areas and complete monitoring records
· Communicate with Laboratory Coordinator on testing results and samples
· Communicate with management regarding deviations found during monitoring inspections
· Ensure Hold policy is being followed when applicable
· Responsible for ensuring finished products and raw ingredients are properly labeled and stored
· Verify production code dating information is correct, legible and properly applied to finished product and complete monitoring records
· Coordinate and ensure non-daily sanitation activities are performed as per the Master Sanitation Schedule
· Responsible for inventory management using FIFO (first-in first-out) system
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment
· Ensures all company guidelines, GMP’s, policies and other duties are followed and implemented as assigned
· Ensures adherence to Health & Safety guidelines and communicates concerns to management immediately
· Any other duties requested by Management
Technical Requirements
· Managing experience, minimum 3-5 years
· Food manufacturing experience, minimum 3 years (preferably Dairy)
· Experience with sanitation
· Computer proficient
· GMP/HACCP/SQF Food Safety Training
· Inventory Control Management
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
