OVERVIEW
Our client, a Canadian-owned construction and maintenance contractor serving industrial sectors across North America, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Controls Specialist to lead the successful execution of major construction projects.

Reporting to the Director of Project Services, the Construction Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for managing project cost, schedule, and performance data to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Acting as a key resource to project management teams, this individual will provide data-driven insight into project performance, risks, trends, and forecasts to support effective decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Track construction progress and installed quantities across multiple disciplines, including structural steel, concrete, rebar, installations, and erection activities, ensuring accurate and timely progress measurement.
· Establish and maintain project cost and schedule baselines, actively tracking performance, progress, and variances against established project plans.
· Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, monitoring progress, identifying variances, and forecasting completion dates.
· Monitor project budgets, actual and forecasted costs, commitments, and cash flow to maintain effective cost control and identify potential overruns.
· Identify and evaluate scope changes, project trends, and emerging issues, proactively supporting change management and the development and processing of change orders.
· Work closely with Project Managers, field teams, engineers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather project information, drive project controls processes, and keep project execution moving forward.
REQUIREMENTS
· Demonstrated experience in project controls within a construction or project-based environment.
· Strong knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management, and project performance measurement.
· Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance metrics including CPI and SPI.
· Proficiency with project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work with and analyze complex project data.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to identify project trends, variances, risks, and potential impacts.
· Understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and project management methodologies.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
· Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects is considered an asset.
· Relevant professional certification is considered an asset.
Hourly Minimum: $60.00/hr
*The minimum salary provided complies with pay transparency requirements. Total compensation and any flexibility surrounding compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and role alignment, and may include additional components.
