Learn 4 Independence
Learn 4 independence is a skills-based program designed for individuals 19yrs + who are neurodivergent and/or have other neurodiversity. The L4I program will help participants develop skills to be more independent and employment ready.
Participants attend L4I Monday through Thursday from 9:00am – 2:30pm. Our program is located on the third floor of Pacific Autism Family Network at 3688 Cessna drive, Richmond BC.
General Duties of position:
- Working in person with L4I clients and provide behavior support
- Able to teach, facilitate and implement behavior intervention plans as outlined, and provide direct support to individuals in the L4I program (1:5 ratio)
- Completes all job related duties as assigned and directed by Program Director
- Collaborate with L4I Team
The preferred candidate(s) will:
- be a team player with positive attitude, willingness to follow regulations and exercise good judgement
- well organized with good time management skills
- be respectful, positive, inclusive and patient
- must have behavior interventionist experience
- experience working with neurodivergent individuals
- be legally entitled to and ready to work in Canada (existing holders with open UNRESTRICTED ( no restriction in both working hours and industry) employment authorization already in place are welcome.
- be willing to provide and complete, as condition of employment, a current criminal record check if you are selected as candidate for reference checks, CRC must be completed and clearance received before employment starts.
- Willing to complete reference checks and provide 2 references from previous recent work experience (BI work experience, from direct supervisor/management)
- have Standard First AID and CPR C (Basic First AID - equivalent to OFA level 1)
- have excellent and clear communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate is an asset
Employment terms:
- Monday to Thursday, 0800 to 1500, off on Fridays, weekends and statutory holidays, and slated holiday closure).
- Statutory holiday pay (after 30 days employment, pay applicable)
- 4% vacation pay accrual on gross earnings
- Extended health benefits will be offered after successful completion of 3 months probationary period
