Position Purpose
This position is to support the production schedule with complete engineered drawings in a timely fashion.
Accountabilities
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Maintain safety standards/policy and housekeeping at all times
- Work with sales staff to promote pro-active customer service
- To learn and work within established model, drawing, BOM and other engineering and company conventions to improve consistency, maintain quality and reduce costs.
- Provide accurate 3D drawings and designs to the required departments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain up to date engineering practices, procedure, files, documentation and databases.
- Interact internally and externally to maintain and improve the way we do things.
- Provide engineering support through all phases of the cycle.
- Assist where necessary in proposal writing and cost estimating for options or new projects.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of sales materials, exhibits and promotional materials.
- Perform other duties as requested by Manager/Project Lead
- Participate in developing your Professional Accreditation

- Utilize full potential of design software and support any improvements that can improve and/or automate the design process.
- Participate in training to improve work related skills.
- Look for and propose potential quality or productivity enhancements.
- Be aware of departmental objectives and provide regular support in achieving these objectives.
- Embrace the company vision and always make decisions to get us closer to this vision.
- Develop familiarity with transportation industry standards and the pertinent provincial and federal regulations as it pertains the design of trailers.
- Become familiar with competitor’s products and bring forward potential design improvements regularly.
Position Criteria
- Proficient in Solid Works, Inventor/AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience with 2D and 3D Inventor / CAD, Solid Works programs.
- Understanding of the manufacturing process and what it takes for BWS to be successful.
- Creative design tendencies with a drive to make things better by solving problems and challenging the status quo.
- Able to work under minimal supervision while ensuring production, management and other related personnel are aware of the project timelines and the impact on current and future designs.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree, Diploma in Technology or equivalent work experience.

This position has no supervisory responsibility
