**This in-person teaching position is located in Delta, BC. The exact school location is to be determined.
The Trades Teacher is a full-time position that may include Automotive, Wood Shop, Metalwork, CAD Drafting, Electronics, Robotics, or MakerSpace. You may be assigned to a specific school or work as a full-time District on Call teacher covering short and long term absences for Trades and other teachers.
Duties:
- Create and implement lesson plans for high school students for Trades courses
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities
- Utilize technology and computerized programs to enhance student learning
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on assignments and exams
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education and valid teaching certificate
- Red Seal in one or more applicable trades
- Experience working with adolescents
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage time and resources
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other computerized programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership qualities to effectively manage a classroom environment
