Vermilion Play Development is a non-profit charitable society that operates early learning and child care programs in Vermilion, Alberta. Our programs are licensed and follow best practices with a "learning through play" philosophy using the "Flight" curriculum. We have an opening in our Out of School Care working with school age children up to grade 6.
Availability
Hours needed are between 730am to 6pm. We are closed weekends, holidays and during school closures.
Job Summary
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Early Childhood Educator! Must have a cleared Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search and a cleared Intervention Check before starting. First aid is required but can be provided.
Duties
- Must love working with children ages Grade 1 to Grade 6 with positive, engaging and inclusive interactions.
- Understand the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulation and Act.
- Using Flight Curriculum for programming and program delivery
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
- Support children’s individual needs through personalized caregiving and attentive supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to safety regulations.
- Document children’s developmental progress and participate in ongoing training to enhance best practices.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and development stages.
- Ability to provide compassionate caregiving tailored to each child’s needs.
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective behavior management and instructional techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and team members.
- Passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning.

Pay: $19.39-$28.62 per hour
