Job Title: Program Coordinator (1 position)
Commitment: 30 hrs/week -Monday to Friday
Duration: Duration: 9 weeks from June 29th, 2026 - August 28th, 2026.
Mandatory Availability: Monday/Wednesday (5:30-8pm) starting June 29th and Monday-Thursday (5:30-8pm) starting July 7th, 2026 - August 27th, 2026)
Location: Tennis Courts at Fountainhead Tennis Club and Grandravine Community Centre (23 Grandravine Dr), and other locations within the Jane/Finch Community
Compensation: starting from $20/hour

Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well organized Program Coordinator to lead the day to day operations of our Summer Tennis Programs and ensure their smooth and successful delivery across multiple sites. This role requires a proactive leader with strong organizational, communication, and people management skills. The ideal candidate has a shared value of being passionate about making a difference in the community, has a love of tennis and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Program Coordinator Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator will report weekly for the Summer Programs from Monday to Thursdays ensuring availability for site visits between 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm beginning June 29th - August 28th, 2026.
- Oversee the successful operation of summer programs including the Summer League and Girls Development initiatives.
- Ensure organization of the weekly league play, including scheduling, court assignments, and score tabulation.
- Provide on-site supervision and presence to build a safe and fun environment that encourages fair play.
- Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers to meet program goals.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Suggest opportunities to engage parents and volunteers in meaningful ways throughout the program.
- Maintain registration databases: troubleshoot account issues, account creation, oversee data integrity, ensure accurate weekly attendance tracking and entry into Clubspark and assist with program registration.
- Support uniform and equipment orders, budget tracking, and other administrative duties.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain equipment inventory and ensure program quality assurance through ongoing evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with the Special Projects Manager to draft proposals, research funding sources, and support special fundraising events and initiatives.
- Maintain professional communication with staff, participants and families and other stakeholders; providing them with regular updates.
- Support program evaluation by collecting feedback, conducting surveys and focus groups, and assisting in data analysis.
- Support communications and promotion by capturing impact stories, contributing content for reports and community, releasing publications on organization websites and social media platforms.
- Promote programs and services through social media, newsletters, and community events.
- Represent JFCTA at community events and help strengthen existing relationships with local stakeholders.
- Support the development of new community partnerships to broaden program impact.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and youth in Jane/Finch or similar community
- 1-3 years experience coordinating youth programs, especially in sports or recreation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with registration systems (e.g., Clubspark) is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and travel locally as needed.
- Passion for tennis and youth development is highly desirable.
- CPR/First Aid certification and Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain prior to program start).
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to work effectively both as a team and independently
- Punctuality and sufficient time management skills

- Strong ability to problem solve and adapt to situations
