Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG WELDER to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily using MIG techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and various fabrication tools. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including ductwork, structural components, and custom fabrications within a dynamic production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on various metal parts and assemblies according to detailed blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble components
- Conduct TIG welding when required for specific projects or materials
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment safely to move heavy materials and assemblies
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precision and adherence to specifications
- Perform basic machining tasks as needed for component fitting and finishing
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools and materials
- Assist in the setup and calibration of welding equipment for optimal performance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding; experience with TIG welding is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing, assembly, and construction processes
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, forklifts, and plasma cutting equipment
- Knowledge of machining processes including the use of calipers, hand tools, power tools, and press brake machines
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
- Experience with ductwork, structural steel fabrication, or similar construction projects preferred
- Ability to operate schematics-based systems for assembly or repair work
- Good understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented with a strong background in welding and fabrication processes. Prior experience in manufacturing or construction environments is highly valued.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
