Our client, a well-established food production company in Mississauga, is seeking an experienced Purchaser / Inventory Control professional to join their growing team. Candidates with prior experience in the food industry will be strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, packaging, and supplies in line with production requirements
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production
- Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics teams
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts
- Evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase orders
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and company policies
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve inventory efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in purchasing and/or inventory control
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or food production is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and purchasing processes
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
