About the Role
The Bookkeeper will coordinate all aspects of accounting, including processing journal entries, maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and using accounting software to manage company finances.
Day-to-day tasks include regular reporting on financial performance to company leadership, oversight of receivables, payables, and other financial functions, and month-end processing. The Bookkeeper will also be responsible for certain administrative & human resources functions, including oversight of bi-weekly payroll and administering employees' benefits coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end accounting tasks.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, GST/PST remittances, and T4 slips.
- Prepare customer invoices and coordinate shipping documentation.
- Support customs documentation, office administration, and production teams.
- Maintain supplies, assist with filing and scanning, help coordinate meetings and occasional company events.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and BC sales taxes.
- Experience with payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
