This a dual role and will be trained both in building maintenance activities and the building management systems in our Operations Centre. Under minimal supervision of the Safety and Operations Manager the MW IV has responsibilities in all facets of facility operations and maintenance. Primarily building monitoring, operations and preventative maintenance, the MW IV is the first response to all facility emergencies 24 hours a day (according to your shift rotation) which include, electrical, mechanical, architectural, ground issues, contractor coordination, troubleshooting and repair of building systems, controls and specialized equipment. During normal working hours the MW IV responsibilities include building monitoring and operation, facility emergencies, front end user driven work orders, assist trades as required and other assigned duties. Once a solid knowledge of the building is gained, the MW IV may be required to be trained in the Operations Centre to learn how the building controls and automation works. This involves monitoring all building systems and to ensure proper environmental conditions are maintained. The Operations centre piece is the first response for all facility emergencies. The Mackenzie Hospital Campus is under intelligent computerized control and the MW IV monitors the CCMS, FireWorks/Chubb Fire System, Reliable Controls, Lenel, Liftnet Elevator System, MICF, WMC/MAHI Telelift System, TAO intercom systems and the Pneumatic Tube system. There is also an off site building called the Medical Isotope & Cyclotron Facility (MICF) that the Operations Centre monitors through a delta controls building management system.
