Senior Manager, Web and Full-Stack Development

Accountable for the leadership of a web full-stack development team, of building and maintaining a high performing team, internal and external partner collaboration and support, support of applications in support of the Lines of Business strategies, and continuous improvement of the web development pracive,. This role has people management accountabilities.

Some Specific Functions of This Role:
Builds and maintains a high performing, highly motivated and performance-driven team through coaching, mentoring and performance measurement tracking
Fosters the cross-functional agile culture on the team
Drives Continuous Improvement and innovation culture with their team, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and practices, demonstrates a passion for automation and process optimizations
Designs high quality solutions, with optimization, scalability and re-usability in mind, and write clear, concise, well-structured and well-documented code according to accepted standards based on user requirements
Inputs to the development and devOps/automation standards, collaborating with the architects and senior managers on the team and across the department
Presents solutions in a well-articulated way, presenting pros and cons clearly, to audiences ranging from non-technical to highly technical. Leads brainstorms in a collaborative, objective, results-focused way.
Coaches and mentors to code with with security, page/site performance, accessibility, SEO and analytics tracking in mind, with Test Driven Development mindset, with the following:

Must have:
Python or Java
HTML 5
CSS3
Javascript and related frameworks (React preferred, or demonstrated experience on other frameworks such as angular or ember, and quick to learn)
Proven practices of web/mobile accessibility – specifically deep knowledge of the AODA/WCAG guidelines
Deep knowledge of Responsive Web Design and related grids and frameworks
Deep knowledge of security and performance considerations for web development
Proven knowledge of DevOps in practice
Knowledge of integration considerations with Adobe Target, and analytics platforms
Knowledge of SEO considerations and best practices with web/mobile development

Nice to have:
Docker
CMS experience (Drupal, Django, AEM, any other)
Postgres or any relational DB knowledge
Participates in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments as appropriate.
Drives successful completion of project deliverables
Provides technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills
Exceptional communications and leadership skills – passionate about the team’s development aspirations and enhancing the practice
Thorough in-depth knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes from both an industry and BMO perspective
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong collaboration and communications (both written and verbal) skills
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Minimum 5 years systems analysis and programming experience with extensive business knowledge.
Specific demonstrated technical skills required for this role:
