The First Impressions, Community Engagement Department is currently seeking two (2) casual Information Officers. As one of the first points of contact with the public, this position with CAMH’s First Impressions program is an exciting opportunity to help transform the lives of people living with mental illness and addictions. Located at CAMH’s Information Desk at the Queen Street Site and College Street Site, the Information Officer will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Using strong interpersonal skills and excellent communications and customer service skills, you will provide factual information by email/online, telephone and in person and assist the public in accessing mental health and addiction services, information and programs within CAMH and throughout Ontario. The Information Officer will keep up-to-date with CAMH events and initiatives, lead tours of CAMH, provide way-finding support to staff, clients, and the general public and support the activities of CAMH’s Community Engagement and Public Affairs portfolios. This position will report to the Manager, First Impressions. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West and 250 College Street.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with one (1) year demonstrated experience working with the general public and with clients, preferably in the mental health and addictions field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including successful experience representing an organization to the public in a fast-paced environment. Possess, strong, well-developed interpersonal skills, demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, tact, courtesy and patience and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse clients and populations in a professional manner. A proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently in a demanding environment, outstanding customer service and telephone skills, strong computer skills, including the ability to prepare reports and support Community Engagement activities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision and will thrive in a dynamic, diverse environment. Knowledge of mental health and addictions issues is preferred. You will possess a demonstrated ability and interest in working with a diverse client base and in an environment that values equity. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in another language is an asset.

Salary Range: $25.22 to $31.10 per hour
