We are looking for a skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic with a specialized focus on electrical diagnostics for modern North American semi-trucks (Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Volvo/Mack). You won’t just be turning wrenches; you’ll be the "brain" of the shop, using advanced software to solve complex electronic and sensor-related issues that others might miss.
What You’ll Do
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Use OEM software (Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink, Paccar DAVIE, etc.) to diagnose engine, transmission, and aftertreatment faults.
- Electrical Repair: Read complex wiring schematics to trace shorts, open circuits, and CAN bus communication errors.
- System Maintenance: Perform standard mechanical repairs, but prioritize high-level electrical system health and electronic control modules (ECMs).
- Quality Control: Conduct road tests and verify that all electronic safety features are fully operational before the vehicle leaves the shop.
What We’re Looking For
- Certification: Journeyman Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (or equivalent experience/certification) prefered.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of North American truck platforms and their specific electrical architectures.
- Tech-Savvy: High proficiency with laptop-based diagnostic tools and multi-meters.
- Precision: An analytical mindset—you enjoy the "detective work" of finding a needle-in-a-haystack electrical fault
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
