MANAGER of SUPPORT SERVICES

The Bethania Group is currently recruiting for a full-time MANAGER of SUPPORT SERVICES
to manage the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments in two Personal Care Homes operated
by the Bethania Group. This salaried position plays an important role in supporting all of our
tenants and staff and maintaining the day-to-day support services of these locations.

Responsibilities include: Daily supervision of staff in 2 locations, overseeing all day-to-day
support services operations for these departments, responding to concerns, inventory control,
budget control and ensuring efficient and safe Housekeeping and Laundry work processes. This
position may at times assist in management duties for Food Services departments at various
Bethania sites as necessary.
As a successful candidate, you are a professional with a strong work ethic dedicated to
providing exceptional customer service. You are able to communicate effectively with staff and
tenants. You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are able to read, write
and speak in the English language. You have demonstrated problem solving and conflict
resolution skills as well as logical thinking and a strong ability to determine and define priorities,
and able to manage your time efficiently as you will be responsible for two sites. You have the
ability to work independently and as part of a team. You exercise good judgment and use
discretion. You have the ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines and able to respond
to a variety of simultaneous demands.

Other requirements:
  • Gr. 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Housekeeping and/or Laundry Services in a PCH
environment

  • 1 year minimum previous experience in supervising and scheduling staff
  • Experience in supervision of staff in a unionized environment would be an asset
  • 2 years diploma in Culinary Arts program or equivalent is preferred
  • 2 years work experience in a “quantity” food service kitchen is an asset
  • Current Certified Food Handling Certificate
  • WHMIS training
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • A full Class 5 valid Driver’s license and a vehicle in good repair
  • A current (within the last year) Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Person Sector
search) and Adult Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.
