Payroll Administrator position is covering maternity leave (18 months)
Start date: beginning of August, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Timely and accurate processing of data for bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff.
- Complete payroll runs on a bi-weekly basis and submit for EFT transfer.
- Maintain employee files and manage status changes.
- Ability to understand the union collective agreement and apply it to payroll processing.
- Collect and enter bi-weekly employee expenses into system.
- Produce, review and submit electronic ROE’s.
- Complete and submit monthly union remittances.
- Maintain apprentice hours and school dates.
- Preparation of T4 slips and filings with CRA annually.
- Distribute T4 slips to employees.
- Complete letters of employment when requested.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of Accounts Payable invoice entry into Jonas.
- File documents and keeping files organized.
- Responsible for ordering office supplies and keep stock organized.
- Answer the company phone and direct the calls as needed.
- Open / organize daily mail and ship out documents as required.
- May perform other tasks/duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Jonas is an asset.
- Strong problem solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to use own initiative, a willingness to learn and be a team-player.
- Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Post-secondary training in administration and/or 2 or more years’ experience in a very similar role processing payroll and/or accounts payable for a BC business is an asset.
