Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation processes, supporting the kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, measuring, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and portioning produce and proteins
- Support cooking staff by organizing ingredients and supplies needed for meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and in accordance with quality standards
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by performing additional prep tasks as needed
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety regulations is advantageous
- Familiarity with meal preparation and food handling practices within the food industry or restaurant setting is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new skills
