Administrative Assistant Job Description
People First of Ontario (PFO) is looking for someone to fulfill a part time position as the Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will play a central role in the People First of Ontario organization. They will handle a full range of administrative duties and act as a support to other team members. The successful candidate must be reliable, flexible, a team player and highly organized. Prior experience is preferred in the areas below.
- Must have a valid driver's licence with a clean driving record; able to travel throughout Canada as required
- Able to obtain and submit a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience providing administrative and secretarial support including scheduling and coordinating meetings, and making travel arrangements
- Excellent English written communication skills with the ability to draft, format, edit and proofread correspondence with attention to detail
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills (English)
- Experienced in providing respectful, person-centred communication and support to individuals with a variety of disabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of social media platforms, Mailchimp, Canva, Google docs ,Facebook and Zoom
- Considerable problem-solving and decision-making skills
- High level of experience coordinating the flow of correspondence and maintaining and managing electronic files
- Experience writing, preparing, and submitting grant applications and funding proposals.
- Ability to assist in a variety of programs according to need
