Contract Position: Late August 2026 – June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension
Fieldstone School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic High School Mathematics and Physics Teacher to join our Upper School faculty for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a contract position beginning in late August 2026 and continuing through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching the full range of Ontario high school Mathematics courses (Grades 9–12), as well as senior-level Physics, with particular strength in Grade 11 and Grade 12 university-preparation courses.
Teaching Responsibilities
The successful candidate should be prepared to teach courses across the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) curriculum, including:
Mathematics – Grades 9–12
- Grade 9 Mathematics (MTH1W)
- Grade 10 Mathematics
- Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U)
- Grade 11 Mathematics courses as required
- Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
- Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
- Grade 12 Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)
- Other secondary Mathematics courses as required
Physics
- Grade 11 Physics (SPH3U)
- Grade 12 Physics (SPH4U)
Qualifications
- University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Science, Education, or a closely related field
- Strong knowledge of senior secondary Mathematics and Physics
- Demonstrated ability to teach Mathematics across multiple high school grade levels
- Ability to communicate complex mathematical and scientific concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong classroom management, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting students with a range of academic strengths and learning needs
- Previous secondary-school teaching experience is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Ontario secondary curriculum and OSSD requirements is an asset
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is an asset but is not required
