Prep Cook Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly follow the prep list created by our culinary leaders
- Manage the prep team and ensure all items are prepared with care and quality
- Create a daily prep list at the start of each shift and assign duties to other team members
- Assist in the hiring, training & development of new team members
- Maintain a fun, respectful work environment while keeping the prep team on track
- Understand and follow prep charts, recipes, checklists, and other guidelines
- Organizing work areas, stocking, checking equipment and ensuring it is in operational condition
- Learn functions of Line Cook, and be prepared to cook on-line
Prep/Line Cook Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a prep or similar role
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Develop the prep team and expand your leadership & culinary skills
- Dedicated, dependable & motivated
- Complete understanding and implementation of all AHS regulations and maintenance of a B&G Elite Kitchen
- Maintaining a clean space, especially in view of guests.
- Demonstrate food safe understanding and adherence.
- Work quickly and efficiently.
- Responsible for opens/closes which include daily/weekly cleaning duties, prepping equipment for close, and ensuring the kitchen is ready for morning open.
- Communicate between shifts and with managers and teammates
- Maintain great communication with FOH to ensure service is smooth
- Have a passion for great food and real ingredients.
- Prep/Cook food that is genuine and of a high-quality
- Take responsibility for food quality and presentation of everything leaving the kitchen.
- Ability to cook large amounts of food for dine in service as well as take out
- Have a passion for providing East Coast Food & Hospitality!
