Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and fulfill order picking tasks. This role requires mechanical knowledge, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and the ability to perform heavy lifting. The Forklift Operator plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, or storage areas with precision and safety
- Perform order picking accurately using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and perform basic maintenance as needed
- Assist in inventory management by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records of materials moved
- Use basic math skills to verify quantities and measurements during operations
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse workflow and improve efficiency
Qualifications
- Valid forklift operator certification or license required
- Experience operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, preferred
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order picking
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, up to 50 pounds or more when necessary
- Strong attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment and inventory management
- Basic math skills for measurements, quantities, and calculations
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is a plus
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Pay: $18.00-$24.43 per hour
