Role Objective:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive CNC Operator to join our team. This is an office-based role that serves as a critical bridge between clients, suppliers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes, can read and interpret technical part drawings, and excels at coordinating production and logistics to ensure seamless order execution. A key success factor in this role is strong, consistent communication with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely production.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to read drawings and communicate with the external machine shop on basic technical issues
- A 5-hour day shift plus a 3-hour night shift to overlap communication with Asia, Monday to Friday
- Manage sample, third-party inspection progress, and verify and finalize inspection records
- Monitor raw material input and finished product output level of external machine shops
- Adjust machine shop scheduling
- Arrange third party parts delivery to external machine shops
- Resolve quality issues
- update client on delivery progress
- Track production and logistics schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Act as the primary point of contact with suppliers, ensuring clear communication of specifications, timelines, and expectations
- Proactively follow up with suppliers to confirm production status, identify risks, and prevent delays
- Coordinate trucking, shipping, and delivery timelines with internal teams and external partners
- Monitor order progress end-to-end, resolving issues before they impact delivery commitments
- Provide clear and timely operations updates to support client communication
- Collaborate cross-functionally (production, sales, logistics) to ensure a smooth buyer experience
- Ensure shipment readiness, including scheduling, documentation, and compliance with shipping cut-off times
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field
- CNC machining certification or technical training is considered an asset
- Experience in CNC manufacturing or machining environment (highly preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and part specifications
- Strong understanding of CNC production workflows, materials, and tolerances
- Proven experience working directly with suppliers or manufacturers
- Strong sense of urgency around timelines, delivery commitments, and cut off deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solver who follows through and closes gaps
- Strong communication skills, excellent written English to communicate with clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP experience is an asset
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: CA $60,000 – 75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Final salary confirmed following successful completion of the probationary period.
