BC Building Science is looking for a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Technologist to join our successful team. The main role involves supportive enhanced commissioning services, retro-commissioning, and energy modelling / audit for new and existing buildings. The successful candidate will be supervised by a professional engineer.

The successful candidate will:
have a degree or diploma specializing in mechanical and energy systems for buildings;
have a minimum of 1 year experience in design and field commissioning of building mechanical systems;
be familiar with local construction methods and materials;
be familiar with building envelope and electrical systems;
preferably have relevant designations such as registered Energy Advisor (EA), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), ASHRAE BCxP, or EIT/P.Eng.;
be skilled in technical writing and have excellent communication skills – written and oral; and
be an excellent team player as part of the energy efficiency team.
The main functions of the successful candidate are:
performing design and field commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and lighting systems for low-rise and high-rise residential towers, and commercial and institutional buildings; and
communication and ongoing construction correspondence with related parties including Developers, Contractors, and Architects.
