Job Title: Spray Painter – Automotive Shipping Rack Manufacturing
Job Summary
The Spray Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing welded automotive shipping racks to meet quality, durability, and customer specifications and are ready for shipment while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated spray guns to paint industrial racks.
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and removing contaminants before painting.
- Inspect painted products for coverage, finish quality, thickness, and defects, and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Operate and maintain spray guns, pressure pots, pumps, and related painting equipment.
- Follow production schedules to ensure on-time completion of customer orders.
- Maintain paint inventory and report material shortages.
- Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes.
- Clean paint machines and equipment as well as workstation.
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
- May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals, or other decorative items on finished products.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the paint booth and equipment.
- Comply with all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with housekeeping requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous industrial spray painting experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred.
- Experience with automotive, industrial, or epoxy coatings is an asset.
- Ability to read work orders and follow paint specifications.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application methods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Wear required PPE, including respirators, coveralls, gloves, and eye protection.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, paint fumes, and varying temperatures.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing and welding shop environment.
- Frequent exposure to paint, solvents, and industrial equipment.
- Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
