Islamic Academy is seeking a qualified and passionate Full-Time Arabic
Teacher
to join our Secondary Arabic Division. As a growing pre-kindergarten
to Grade 12 school, EIA offers a dynamic and supportive environment where
educators can grow both personally and professionally.
We are looking
for an outstanding and dedicated educator who is passionate about teaching
Arabic and fostering a love for language learning. The ideal candidate will
create a flexible, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports
both native Arabic speakers and students learning Arabic as an additional
language. This role is key in developing students’ linguistic proficiency while
nurturing their confidence, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation.
Key
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver engaging Arabic language
instruction, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- Design and implement lessons that support language
acquisition for both native speakers and second-language learners
- Create and evaluate student assessments; maintain
accurate and up-to-date records of student progress
- Foster critical thinking, discussion, reading
comprehension, and linguistic analysis
- Communicate regularly and effectively with
students, parents, colleagues, and administration
- Assign meaningful homework to reinforce learning
and prepare students for future lessons
- Use diverse instructional strategies that promote
engagement and intellectual curiosity
- Maintain high expectations for student behavior and
implement effective classroom management strategies
- Build positive and respectful relationships with
students and contribute to a supportive classroom environment
- Participate in staff meetings, professional
development, and school initiatives
Qualifications
& Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Education, or a
related field from an accredited institution (teaching certification is an
asset)
- Experience teaching Arabic at the junior high or
secondary level is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and
interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively in
a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of current, research-based instructional
strategies for language learning
- Experience integrating technology (e.g., SMART
Boards, Chromebooks, Google platforms, STEAM resources) into instruction
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet
diverse learner needs
- Commitment to inclusive education and student
success
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to contribute
positively to a faith-based school environment
- Commitment to building strong relationships with
students, parents, staff, and the broader community
- Experience with project-based learning is
considered an asset
