Overview
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Barista/Cafe All Rounder to join our vibrant coffee shop team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the food industry, possess excellent time management skills, and enjoy creating a welcoming environment for customers. Prior barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure you excel in your role.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Assist customers with menu selections and provide friendly, efficient service
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, snacks, or light meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and safety practices
- Manage cash register operations, including cashiering and basic math calculations for transactions
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with general café maintenance
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere
Skills
- Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for efficient cashiering
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to various tasks such as serving, food preparation, and cleaning duties
