Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Truck & Equipment Mechanical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of commercial trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and snowplow systems.
A 310T licence is an asset, but is not required for this position. We recognize that many highly capable mechanics have developed their skills through years of hands-on experience rather than formal trade certification.

This position includes both in-person and mobile repairs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, diagnose problems efficiently, and prioritize repairs to keep equipment operating safely and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Adjust, repair, replace, and maintain parts and components of commercial and heavy trucks.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain snowplows and related equipment.
- Perform tire inspections, repairs, and replacements as required.
- Complete mobile, on-site, and roadside repairs.
- Identify required repairs and parts to minimize equipment downtime.
- Work with office staff on parts purchasing, repairs, and daily maintenance logging.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts required.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment meet safe operating standards.
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Participate in on-call and emergency repairs as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- 310T Truck and Coach Mechanic licence is an asset, but not required.
- Strong hands-on mechanical experience with commercial trucks, heavy equipment, machinery, or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of heavy truck systems and components.
- Hydraulic experience is an asset.
- Snowplow repair and maintenance experience is an asset.
- Heavy equipment experience is an asset.
- Valid AZ or DZ driver's licence is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and reliable.
- Ability to prioritize repairs in a busy work environment.
- Comfortable working both outdoors and on-site.
We encourage experienced candidates who do not hold a 310T licence to apply. Practical mechanical ability and hands-on experience are highly valued.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, permanent, year-round position
- Tuesday–Saturday
- Flexible hours based on operational needs
- On-call availability as required, including emergency and roadside repairs
- $25.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

- Travel time is paid
- Overtime after 88 hours biweekly
