At SMS Equipment, our Service and Parts Supervisors play a key role in managing the Branch’s Parts, Inventory and Service operations. The incumbent will have the opportunity to share their knowledge, build relationships with customers and provide technical support. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their leadership, positivity and customer service to the team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership: Ensures all department activities are conducted in full compliance with safety, health and environmental standards, company policies and procedures. Practices sound leadership and human relations principles to always promote teamwork. Builds organizational culture in which performance matters by coaching, setting expectations and communicating rewards consequences.
Safety: Ensures department activities are conducted in full compliance with safety, health and environmental standards. Bring awareness to safety by participating fully in all Branch and Company safety programs.
Other: Develops annual business plans, objectives and related budgets. Monitors and ensures compliance with all contractual customers, contractors and supplier agreements.
The ideal candidate will have some post-secondary education with 3 years related parts and inventory experience. Any combination of education and experience in managing parts and inventory control is desirable. The candidate will possess general knowledge of the technical areas covered under responsibilities and activities as well as the Komatsu product line and the products SMS currently services.
Must be a strong leader with the ability to effectively lead.
Ability to set objectives which are realistic but aggressive.

Stewards’ revenues and/ or expenses in accordance with budgets; estimates future possibilities, manages revenue/ expense controls, and provides informed analyses.

Identifies and evaluates unique opportunities for improving the Branch operations (i.e. sales, products, cost reductions, use of resources, policies/ procedures); generating new ideas, approaches or techniques having useful application.
