Our client, a global leader in designing and manufacturing material handling systems for the mining and construction industries, is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join their growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on custom, large-scale equipment, own projects from concept through manufacturing, and collaborate with an experienced team in a stable, growing organization.
Competitive hourly wage of $28.00-$34.00/hour
Half-day Fridays with a Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM-4:30 PM schedule

Design custom mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks for mining and material handling equipment
Develop complete manufacturing-ready design packages, including detailed drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and engineering documentation
Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable
Participate in design reviews, resolve technical challenges, and implement revisions throughout the project lifecycle
Support commissioning, testing, and continuous improvement of engineered systems when required
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting quality standards and project timelines
Use your 3-5 years of mechanical design experience to contribute to innovative engineering projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Demonstrate strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including complex assemblies, detailed drawings, and design revisions
Apply your understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, materials selection, and mechanical design principles to deliver high-quality designs
Leverage your experience with FEA or simulation software to support sound engineering decisions
Bring a self-motivated, independent work style and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects
Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and shop personnel to solve technical challenges and support successful project execution
Experience within mining, heavy equipment, steel fabrication, or industrial manufacturing is considered a strong asset
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline
