Overview
Our firm practices in the areas of Real Estate Law, Corporate Law, Family Law, and Civil Litigation. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Legal Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. Previous experience in a law office, particularly in real estate transactions, is preferred.
The successful candidate will have a legal education and/or administrative or clerical background, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, takes initiative, and demonstrates strong time-management skills.
The successful candidate will be able to:
1. Assist with residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, refinances, and private mortgages, from file opening through to reporting and closing;
2. Review and understand transaction documents and legal documentation;
3. Communicate effectively with clients, financial institutions, mortgage lenders, real estate brokers, and other law firms to facilitate successful closings;
4. Draft correspondence and legal documents;
5. Perform general administrative duties, including answering telephone calls, managing emails, scheduling appointments, photocopying, faxing, mailing documents, and client intake;
6. Organize, maintain, and manage physical and electronic files.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in residential real estate transactions is preferred;
2. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities;
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
4. High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software is an asset.
Start Date
The successful candidate should be available to commence employment as soon as possible, with a preferred start date of July 2026.
Mandatory Language Requirement
Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin and English is required.
