Victoria, Nanaimo or Vancouver Island, BC
Build your career—and your life—on Vancouver Island.
MatchBox Consulting is partnering with a respected, established electrical contractor to find an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator. This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of commercial, industrial and institutional projects: identifying opportunities, building the estimate, winning the work and leading delivery through to final closeout.
The company has built its reputation through quality work, long-standing relationships and a straightforward way of doing business. They are looking for someone equally practical and accountable—an electrical construction professional who understands both the numbers behind a successful project and the field realities required to deliver it.
Whether you are already based in Victoria, Nanaimo or elsewhere on Vancouver Island, or you are ready to trade the Lower Mainland commute for a better quality of life, this role offers meaningful work, professional autonomy and the opportunity to grow with an established contractor.
Manage projects from initial estimate through construction and closeout
Work across diverse commercial, industrial and institutional projects
Join a reputable contractor with established industry relationships
Maintain a visible, hands-on connection to project sites and field teams
Take ownership of project financial performance—not simply one piece of delivery
Build a long-term career on Vancouver Island
You will be responsible for both securing and delivering profitable electrical construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Identify and pursue new project and business opportunities
Prepare competitive estimates, tenders and change-order pricing
Manage project budgets, costs, forecasting and overall financial performance
Develop project schedules and coordinate labour, materials and equipment
Purchase materials and maintain strong supplier relationships
Work closely with Foremen and Superintendents to review drawings, specifications, labour requirements and construction challenges
Maintain a regular presence on active project sites
Monitor project progress and make adjustments when required
Complete billing and project documentation to support prompt payment
Coordinate project manuals, deficiencies, commissioning and closeout
Ensure as-built drawings and final documentation are completed and submitted
Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams
Electrical trade certification, Electrical Engineering degree, or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma/certificate
At least two years of electrical project management and estimating experience
Proven experience with commercial, industrial or institutional electrical projects
Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, labour requirements and material costs
Demonstrated ability to manage estimates, schedules, budgets and project documentation
Practical, straightforward communication style and the ability to work effectively with both field and office teams
Experience with electrical estimating software; Accubid Pro and Accubid Change Order experience is considered an asset
A driven, accountable approach and the ambition to take ownership of projects
This role is well suited to an experienced Electrical Project Manager or Estimator who wants broader ownership, as well as a strong electrical construction professional ready to take the next step into full project leadership.
If you are looking for a role where you can win the work, lead the work and see the results firsthand—while building your future on Vancouver Island—we would like to hear from you.
