Job Overview
We are recruiting a Project Manager to join our team to oversee civil construction, winter access/freeze-down, and forestry projects throughout Alberta. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all phases of project execution, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with field leadership, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, the Project Manager will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company policies.
Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects from initiation through completion in accordance with schedules, specifications, budgets, and contract requirements.

Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.

Prepare project schedules, establish milestones, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery.

Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet project objectives.

Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports to clients and internal stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving issues that may impact safety, schedule, quality, or cost.

Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents, project specifications, and subcontract agreements.

Foster strong working relationships with clients, consultants, field personnel, and subcontractors.

Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.

Support estimating, project planning, and business development activities as required.
Requirements

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

PMP designation or other recognized project management certification is considered an asset.

Minimum five (5) years of project management experience within civil construction, earthworks, forestry, winter access, industrial construction, or the energy sector.

Experience managing unit rate and/or lump sum contracts.

Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and project controls.

Previous experience as a Construction Supervisor or Field Superintendent is considered an asset.

Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis.
