Reporting to the Executive Director, Indigenous Education, or designate, the Coordinator, Indigenous Education supports the operational coordination, development, delivery and continuous improvement of Indigenous Education programming. The position has a primary presence at the Comox Valley Campus and supports on-campus, online and in-community programming across the College region.
The Coordinator works closely with Indigenous Education leadership, faculty, service departments, Elders, Knowledge Keepers and community partners to support effective program implementation. Areas of responsibility include program and course scheduling processes, faculty onboarding and operational support, program review, curriculum coordination, enrolment and recruitment activities, in-community delivery, coordination of Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and Journeying to Reconciliation and related faculty professional development.
The Coordinator provides process coordination, continuity and operational support. The position does not supervise faculty, assign faculty workload, evaluate faculty performance, adjudicate student appeals, or exercise formal academic, personnel, financial or community partnership authority.
