Skilled & General Construction Labourers

Pay: CA$18.25 - CA$22.00 per hour

The Opportunity
EMBERS Staffing is hiring both Skilled Labourers and General Construction Labourers for active construction sites across the Fraser Valley region. Whether you have power tools experience and carpentry skills, or you are reliable and physically capable for general labour — we have work for you.
**Shifts are available on a temporary, on-call, and contract basis, with ongoing opportunities as projects come in.**
What You'll Be Doing
For Skilled Labour Roles:
- Operating a range of power tools independently and safely, including drills, circular saws, grinders, nail guns, and jackhammers
- Performing basic carpentry work — measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting materials to spec
- Installing drywall from boarding through to taping and mudding
- Carrying out simple repairs and fixes on site, reading measurements accurately and working with a nailer as required
For General Labour Roles:
- Loading and unloading construction materials and safely transporting them across job sites
- Assisting skilled tradespeople with tools, equipment, and day-to-day site tasks
- Performing site setup, cleanup, and demolition work as directed
For Both Roles:
- Working at heights when required, following all fall protection protocols and WorkSafeBC safety standards
- Safely handling, moving, and transporting materials across the job site
- Supporting the Foreman with general labour tasks as directed and keeping the site organized and hazard-free throughout the day
- Following all health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements without exception
- Assisting with roofing duties including carrying and staging roofing materials, tear-off and removal of old roofing, and supporting roofers with tools and equipment as directed
What You Need
For Skilled Labour Roles:
- Minimum 1 year of skilled construction labour experience (required)
- Demonstrated ability to operate power tools independently on a job site
- Basic carpentry skills including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials
For General Labour Roles:
- Minimum 1 year of construction labour experience (required)
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and comfortable bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying conditions
For Both Roles:
- Physically capable of performing sustained manual labour throughout a full shift
- Full PPE required: hard hat, safety vest, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves
- Dependable and punctual — the crew and Foreman are counting on you
- Fall Protection Certification (preferred — candidates with this will be prioritized)
- Additional machinery or safety certifications are a strong asset
Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
