Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overall leadership of the maintenance crew. The Maintenance Supervisor works as part of a team to maintain the facility’s reliability. Diverse experience in organizational management, maintenance and reliability, as well as practical experience in plant reliability will be a great asset. The successful candidate must have exceptional skills and knowledge in areas such as technical ability, communication, leadership, resource management, PM optimization, maintenance technology and/or reliability continuous improvement through FMEA, RCA, RCM, and other methods.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Engineering Degree, Industrial Mechanic or comparative experience in Supervision
3 to 5 years Maintenance Supervision experience
Strong analytical skills (e.g. root cause analysis and statistical analysis)
Strong computer skills (e.g. MS Office)
Budget management experience
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet established goals/objectives
Initiative and self-managing skills to work independently with minimal direction with the ability to effectively anticipate and solve problems as they arise
Must be willing to work alternative shift schedules when applicable for assignments
Experience within a unionized environment is an asset

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise 15 hourly trades personnel and outside contractors on repairs, ongoing improvements, and unplanned downtime
Verify labor hours & materials
Conduct Crew Meetings and coach maintenance team on leadership values and work assignments
Ensure crews are working safely at all times, facilitate Health & Safety policies and accident investigations
Play an integral part in food safety and internal and external audits
Work with Engineers on major equipment modifications and new equipment installations
Handles all emergency work (parts, people, and instructions)
Meet monthly budget requirements
Review job duration and resource conflicts
Authorize Planned Work Scope Changes
Manage carryover work (shift to shift) - set expectation with use of shift-to-shift reporting
Coach others on proper work entry and verbalized actions.
Generate, review and verify work orders and select and communicate priority work requests
