Okanagan Class 1 Driver
We are a bottle depot and recycling facility located in Vernon, BC.
Please note that this position is a part time position with the anywhere from 10-24 hours per week. Hours will increase during the summer months.
We are looking for a driver that requires a Class 1 Driver's license. This position services within the North Okanagan, The service area is within the North Okanagan, picking up recycling from other bottle depots, liquor stores and grocery stores as well as cardboard bales, etc.
The job requires individuals to not only have a good driving abstract with a Class 1 Driver's License, but also interactive people skills. We care about not only servicing our customers but working with them so they achieve a great experience.
We use a International tractor - 26' pup in-town and a 48' trailer within the valley along with a 5T truck. The trailers are equipped with a full size lift gate for depots who don't have access to a forklift. We also use an electric power jack for moving skids around.
The job is fairly physical as the driver loads and unloads their own trucks. So you will get dirty and there is labour involved in this process. It is a part time position but we are flexible on the days and hours. Flexibility is one of our strengths.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo using forklift or other equipment as needed
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the truck to ensure it is in good working condition
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
- Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
