Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced, and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our growing team. Someone who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial irrigation systems throughout the Greater Victoria area.
We are open to candidates with a range of experience and will consider additional qualifications when determining compensation. Red Seal certification, irrigation certifications, plumbing experience, or other relevant trade experience may qualify for a higher starting wage.
Responsibilities
- Install new irrigation systems using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment such as excavators when necessary
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on existing irrigation infrastructure to prevent leaks and system failures
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation components including valves, pipes, sprinklers, and controllers with mechanical knowledge and precision
- Adjust watering schedules based on weather conditions, plant needs, and landscape requirements to optimize water efficiency
- Collaborate with gardening and horticulture teams to ensure irrigation supports healthy plant growth and landscape aesthetics
- Maintain detailed records of system repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and future planning
- Assist in landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, planting, and soil preparation as needed
- Has a valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Plumbing experience is an asset, but is not required
- Irrigation certification
