Responsibilities
The Instructor - Lower Elementary reports to the Director and would be responsible for delivering variety educational activities including:
1. After-care classes, field trips and workshops during the school year. Running camps during the summer and school breaks.(70% of time);
2. Developing activities, preparing equipment and writing lesson plans (15% of time);
3. Business development (5% of time);
4. Newsletter and Posts (5% of time); and
5. Other Duties (5% of time).
Experience
You have 2-3 years of work experience with children ages 5 to 8 in a professional or volunteer capacity. Additionally, you have a demonstrated experience in a role of responsibility for at least 2 years.
Education
A degree or diploma (with preference to STEM or Childhood education).
Attributes
You are extremely comfortable and confident in front of an audience or group. You have strong improvisation skills.
You grasp new concepts in a variety of areas and have the ability to quickly learn essential elements of a topic or task.
You have demonstrated good work ethic.
You have good writing skills and can work with MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
You exhibit patience and responsible behaviour patterns in all aspects of dealing with clients.
You are well organized and thoughtful in your approach to problem solving.
You have excellent verbal and listening skills.
Other Requirements
You must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
