Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Painter to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, applying high-quality paint finishes, and ensuring a flawless appearance. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of automotive painting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous dealership experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued to ensure the highest standards of vehicle restoration and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mix and match paint colors accurately to achieve desired finishes
- Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes
- Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols related to handling paints, solvents, and equipment
- Collaborate with technicians and other team members to complete vehicle repairs efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive painting, preferably within a dealership environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in auto body painting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy vehicle parts
- Strong understanding of automotive repair procedures and standards
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye for quality finishes
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy shop environment
